Hi All. Please, let me introduce myself and tell you why I’m so happy to meet you.
My name is Jody MacArthur and I’m the online editor and community manager for the newly launched momstown Halifax media outlet.
I am the mom of two young ladies, Maddie is 8 and Kate is 11. I am always surprised when I realize that my first-born is 11. Where does the time go? I remember being a full-time working mom with two children under four and thinking that this would be my life forever. I’m here to tell you that this too shall pass but try to find the silver lining after the storm.
The days are long but the time is short. I hear this advice a lot, but I can tell you that it’s really true. All of a sudden you go from princess dresses and cartoons to middle school dances and boyfriends.
But do you know what makes your parenting experience even better? People to share it with… a supportive network of moms and dads who have been where you are and who are willing to help and lend an ear.
Enter, momstown. momstown.ca connects real moms across Canada both nationally and in local communities like Halifax. Our national content includes Arts & Crafts ideas, family friendly recipes, great contests, product reviews, and parenting tips. From baby to school age, momstown Halifax connects our community of moms with the news, views, resources and valuable social connections that every mom needs.
My job with momstown Halifax is to make sure that I’m sharing and creating content that is meaningful to moms here in Halifax. This site will be a resource about what is going on in our community, hot parenting topics, things to do at home and around town, and other issues that are important to parents and caregivers. But I can’t do it alone. I need you, our momstown Halifax readers to tell me what you want to hear about and to tell me about what’s going on in your part of Halifax so that we can all benefit. You know, the more the merrier… it takes a village.
So I look forward to building our momstown Halifax village with you and supporting you as a parent and a fellow citizen in our fabulous community.
I look forward to building our village together!
